From L to R (Rhiannon Duryea, Mark Politz, James Heuston, Stephen Zenishek, Troy Kirk)
With the 2025 season concluded, the Saint Louis Australian Football Club plans to hit the ground running for 2026, starting with the official election of next year’s board members.
Mark Politz will take his second term as President, and plans to continue the improvements made in the 2025 season. Running on a similar platform, he aims to continue strengthening the presence of Australian Football in the Midwest, including expanding the Blues women’s side.
James Heuston was also reelected to his second term and will continue to work as the team’s Vice President. He will continue to grow the club through his leadership skills and knowledge of the game.
Stephen Zenishek has been elected for a fifth consecutive term and has announced he will not be seeing re-election at the conclusion of the 2026 season. He will mentor prospects to take over the role after the 2026 season, ensuring continued fiscal success. His work has included the club’s first major sponsor through Perennial Artisan Ales.
Troy Kirk will join the board as the club’s 2026 Secretary. Troy brings his lifetime experience of the game as both a player and board member for multiple Australian and US clubs. He aims to propel Saint Louis to be as recognizable as any of the top clubs in the USAFL.
Rhiannon Duryea will serve as Member at Large for her third consecutive season. Rhiannon has made the role her own and plans to use her connections made throughout her years in the league to bolster recruiting, assist in member needs, and, as always, ensure the club is running efficiently.
Last year, two positions were created in order to assist the board. Dave Zitko will continue to act as the Head of Football Operations, ensuring all trainings, games, and metros are finalized and scheduled. He will also continue to secure all fields for training and games. Tim Castellari has been appointed Marketing Manager. He spent the 2025 season working in collaboration with former Marketing Managers and aims to continue the social media success seen in the past year. In addition to these two non-voting positions, the role of Social Coordinator has been added. Luke Schofield will spearhead this role in its inaugural year. Luke plans to use this role to organize both team-building outings to boost camaraderie, as well as events to interact with the community to expand team presence and recruit future club members.
