History

1990

Founders Sam Ingram and Dave Nicholls met up in early 1997, when the two decided it would be a great idea to form a football club in St. Louis. With strong connections and loyalty to Carlton, the Blues were born. St. Louis became the 7th team to join the United States Australian Football Association (now the USAFL).

2000

In 2001, Jim Martin took over as president and head coach and Dan Sarbacker took over coaching responsibilities in 2006, Martin remained president. Ruckman, Dan Sergott would follow Sarbacker with Martin continuing as president where they would remain until 2010 and 2011 respectively. During these early years St. Louis was also a member of the Mid America Australian Football League where they were premiers in 2003 and 2004. St. Louis developed some of the best American talent during their early years, sending five players to join the Revolution team at the International Cup in 2005. One of those players, Chris Caroll, trained with the Essendon Bombers in 2005 and Old Haileybury in the Victorian amateur leagues. Dan Sarbacker, another Revolution player, also spent time in Australia in Goulburn Valley Football League in Victoria. Several others would play for the Revolution through 2010

2010

The old guard grew older and many relocated. This left the club in the hands of a few folks as membership dwindled. Over the years, a few of the remaining players teamed up with the Ohio Valley River Rats (Cincinnati,Indianapolis Louisville & St. Louis) to string together a dominance in USAFL Division IV play with a few National titles to boot.

2020

The COVID Pandemic of 2020 halted all USAFL operations, but the AFL was the only televised sport still playing in the world for a while. This allowed more individuals to learn about the sport that was suddenly the only sport on their television.  In 2021, An influx of USAFL players relocating to St. Louis allowed for new life to form in the struggling club. After a 10-year hiatus, STLAFC kitted up for the first time against old rival, Kansas City Power and turned out a win in their first game back. This would be the only USAFL victory of the 2021 season for the young club.

2022 would prove to be a different story. With a strong recruited class, STLAFC would put up more of a fight when it mattered most. After dropping all but one USAFL fixture, St. Louis paired up with the Las Vegas Gamblers for the 2022 USAFL Nationals tournament in Ontario, California. After suffering a Round 1 loss in the tournament to the Des Moines Roosters, the hopes for a Grand Final appearance looked dim, but thanks to the magic of Division IV, anything could happen. After outscoring Golden Gate Roos and Orange County Giants 79-21 in Rounds 2 & 3, the newly donned "St. Vegas" found themselves in the Division IV Grand Final. The cherry on top was as a rematch of Round 1 opponents, Des Moines Roosters. "St. Vegas" was able to continue their scoring habits and the final siren sounded on a final score of 5.4.34 to 0.2.2 to secure a Premiership in the club's second season back.

After the Nationals victory in 2022, STLAFC opted to compete in Division III in 2023. Matching up with more established clubs such as Oklahoma and Chicago would be a welcomed challenge. While the scoreboards of the 2023 season did not reflect the ending results STLAFC wanted, the strides made launching into Division III were enough to comfort the club.

2024 was a season of ebbs and flows for St. Louis. Rich Lozano was officially announced as the clubs Senior Coach in the offseason and went to work immediately. With strong numbers to start off the season, the summer heat and injuries seemed to take its toll on players. Highlights of the season include winning the inaugural Das Steinkrug Match versus Wisconsin and going 2-1 at Nationals. STLAFC finished the season .500
