The St. Louis Blues won the Division III Championship at the USAFL National Tournament held in Louisville, Kentucky on October 13-14, 2007.

The USAFL National Tournament ranks teams into four divisions at Nationals.  St. Louis' 2-2 record in MAAFL play, 4-2 overall, placed the Blues firmly in Division III, where teams played 16 players per side in a game format of two 20-minute halves (roughly half of a regular game).
The Blues started pool play with a strong performance, winning by 7.5-47 to 0.4-4 over the host club, the Louisville Kings.  St. Louis then beat the Arizona Hawks 8.7-55 to 2.2-14, setting up a match with the Cincinnati Dockers (also 2-0 in pool play) to determine who would get the chance to play for the Division III championship.
Earlier in the season, the Blues met Cincinnati in a MAAFL match-up in St. Louis, winning comfortably by a 17.15-117 to 6.5-41 margin.  But this was neutral ground, and the Dockers brought a strong side.  After a tightly contested first half, St. Louis rallied to hold the Dockers scoreless in the second half, and the Blues earned a trip to the Division III final against the Las Vegas Gamblers.
Like St. Louis, Las Vegas had also emerged from pool play undefeated, with comfortable wins over the Kansas City Power, Florida Redbacks, and Baton Rouge Tigers.
The Division III Grand Final was held at center stage on the National Tournament's biggest field, with a film crew and announcer on hand to cover the proceedings.  The first half was a defensive struggle, with both teams managing only a few scoring chances, and at halftime the Blues were up by only a few points.  St. Louis then rallied with three goals in the second half to take the win and the Division III Championship, 4.7-31 to 2.4-16.
Several St. Louis players earned individual honors as well, with Dan Sergott winning the Most Consistent Player award for his performance in pool play, and Dan Sarbacker winning the MVP for the Division III Grand Final.  The Blues also emerged from the tournament with two Centurion milestones: Ben Lipman scored his 100th career goal for the Blues, and team captain Jim Martin played his 100th game, with the 101st coming in the Championship.  Lipman and Martin lead the Blues in goals and games played, respectively.
The Blues finished the season with its best record to date, with 8 wins and 4 losses, and look to make the move up to Division II next year.
C'arn the Blues.

Come out and barrack for your favorite Blue!  St. Louis' own Australian Rules Football team, the St. Louis Blues A.R.F.C., will storm the field against the Nashville on Saturday, June 10, 2006 , at Buder Park in Valley Park, Missouri (30 minutes from downtown St. Louis).  Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
The Blues are currently 3-1, and started the season with three victories in a row.   The Blues won the ANZAC Thunder Over Louisville Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky, prevailing over the Kansas City Power (42-26), and the Louisville Kings (65-21), and also scored a victory against the Atlanta Kookaburras (97-38).  St. Louis is now hoping to erase the sting from a bitter defeat in their last game against Chicago United.
